Do not take CELEBREX without first talking to your doctor if you have any of the following conditions:

• History of asthma, urticaria, or allergic-type reactions after taking aspirin or other NSAIDs
• Allergic reaction to sulfonamides or sulfa-based medication
• Hypertension
• History of ulcer disease or gastrointestinal bleeding

The existence of these conditions may require your doctor to prohibit, make a dosage adjustment or call for special monitoring while taking CELEBREX.

Celecoxib is in the FDA pregnancy category C, which means that it is not known whether it will be harmful to an unborn baby, or whether it can be passed on to nursing infants. Interactions:

• Furosemide

Low-dose aspirin may be used while taking CELEBREX.

Side effects:

CELEBREX is generally well tolerated by most patients. Most of the common side effects include:

• Indigestion.
• Diarrhea.
• Abdominal pain.

Other, more serious side effects include serious skin reactions or gastrointestinal discomfort.

Be alert of the following symptoms as these could be early signs of more adverse reactions to CELEBREX:

• Chest pain
• Shortness of breath
• Weakness
• Slurring of speech
• Ulcers and bleeding
• Skin rash and blisters
• Fever
• Itching

Report signs of unexplained weight gain or edema.

Stop medication and seek immediate medical attention if you experience:

• Nausea.
• Fatigue or lethargy.
• Pruritus.
• Jaundice.
• Right upper quadrant tenderness.
• "Flu-like" symptoms.
• Difficulty breathing.
• Swelling of face or throat.

If you develop allergic-type reactions, stop taking CELEBREX and seek immediate medical attention.

Side effects other than those identified here may also occur. Talk to your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual or bothersome.

Dosage:

Take CELEBREX exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Frequency and dosage varies with type of condition. CELEBREX can be taken with or without food.

For patients with difficulty swallowing, CELEBREX capsule can be opened and the granules inside can be mixed with one tablespoon of applesauce. Mixture can stand up to six hours if refrigerated or stored in temperatures between 2-8° C (35-45° F).

Storage:

Store CELEBREX at 25°C (77°F), or between 15-30°C (59-86°F).
