ALLEGRA (fexofenadine hydrochloride) is a prescription drug indicated for the relief of symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis or chronic idiopathic urticaria (hives), like sneezing, runny nose, itching and watering of the eyes.
ALLEGRA is not approved for use by children younger than 6 years.

Contraindications:

The existence of these conditions may require your doctor to prohibit, make a dosage adjustment or call for special monitoring while taking ALLEGRA.
Fexofenadine is in the FDA pregnancy category C, which means that it is not known whether it will be harmful to an unborn baby, or whether it can be passed on through breastfeeding.
Interactions:
Do not take ALLEGRA without first talking to your doctor if you are taking other prescription or over-the-counter medicines; including vitamins, minerals, and herbal supplements.
Do not take ALLEGRA close in time to taking antacids with aluminum or magnesium. These antacids may decrease the effects of ALLEGRA.
Side effects:
ALLEGRA is generally well tolerated by most patients. On rare occasions, patients have reported minor ALLEGRA side effects like insomnia, nervousness, and sleep disorders or paroniria (nightmares).
If you develop allergic-type reactions, stop taking ALLEGRA and seek immediate medical attention.

Dosage:
Take ALLEGRA exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Frequency and dosage varies with type of condition.
